The Raasay Heritage Trust has an unrivaled collection of genealogical information on Raasay that we hope to share with our supporters.

We recently embarked on an exciting and ambitious project to combine conventional genealogical research, patronymics, oral histories and DNA analysis to ultimately develop and share a definitive Raasay Family Tree going back at least to the late 1700s.

DNA has the power to firmly establish family ties and ancestral relationships. Our hope is that with enough DNA samples from people with roots in Raasay we can unravel and uncover new relationships going back hundreds of years.
